This blog is a resource for my students. Students can contact me, get to know me and stay current on class assignments.
My goal is to upload all PowerPoints, worksheets, notes and lectures online so students can review or catch up on any material they need to at any time.
Here are some of the assignments we will do in Art 1A...
1. Read my classroom rules out loud.
2. Design or pick existing symbols that correlate with each rule.
3. Design and color in at least 2 mini posters, focusing on one or more classroom rules. You must list the rule itself and include the symbol you chose for the rule you are focusing on.
Please refer to these resources to help you design and create your posters.
This assignment is worth 10 points.
Once it is completed we will hang them all up around my classroom rules painting.
It is important that we all feel ownership and respect of our creative learning space.
Assignment number 2 - Cubism.
The second assignment we will do together as a class is a Cubism study and self portrait.
Before we begin the hands on art making activity we must first learn what cubism is.
Please read these articles and watch the following videos.
If you feel inspired please feel free to watch this documentary on Pablo Picasso!
For this assignment you will be drawing a self portrait in a Cubism style. That means that you must show AT LEAST two fews of your face at the same time!
Assignment 3 - One and Two Point Perspective.
You will design a room in one point perspective, and a house in two point perspective.
Each drawing is worth 20 points.
Your room must include at least 5 pieces of furniture that also adhere to the laws of one point perspective.
Your house must include 5 details, (windows, doors, chimney, fence etc…)
Please watch these videos to help you understand how to properly complete your one and two point perspective drawings.
